My name is Joep Albers, I consider myself an interdisciplinary conceptual artist. I explore the intersection of technology and art, focussing on what happens when technology rebels against utility. 

In my graduation series Denovation, I use technological readymade objects and modify them so they not only stop working but start resisting against their purpose.

This way I create inherently conflicted objects. Technology that no longer fulfills its main promise, progress.

I try to make as little decisions as possible. If there is something that faith can decide for me, I tend to go along with her intentions.

I really like art that is fun, that makes you smile or laugh. Not as a joke, but as a reaction to an exciting thought, an unexpected point of view. But maybe it’s because I can’t help but smile when I see something that’s very cleverly done:)
